Email Law: CAN SPAM and Your Email Liability
In 2003, the Federal government passed the Federal CAN-SPAM Act. This stands for Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing. The intent of the law is to protect consumers from "spam" - unwanted emails selling inappropriate products and services. You need to set up your email marketing program to be in compliance with the law. We outline the steps for how to do that below.
