Bundling to Increase Sales
Bundling is a marketing strategy that works to increase sales. Product bundles are groupings of two or more things that go together that you offer to a customer. They can include both products and services. Or, several products from one company or several companies. Bundling can benefit both you and your customer.
Some examples of bundling
- When phone companies offer a lower price for phone and internet service, that's a bundle.
- A gift basket of a bottle of wine, cheese and crackers and candy is a bundle. It's not sold at a discount.
- A veterinarian that offers a service for new puppy owners that includes well check visits, shots, spay/neutering, and flea control products is offering what marketers call a "product bundle".
- When a computer store sells a printer, paper and an extra ink cartridge, that's a bundle.
- A grocery store that offers "dinners to go" is offering a bundle.
- A spa that offers a relaxation package of a massage, facial and manicure is bundling.

How bundling benefits sellers
- Makes it harder for shoppers to compare prices because you are bundling several products or services together.
- Differentiates one seller from other.
- This is what consultants do, recommend relevant product/services.
- It generates immediate revenue for future business.
- Can be used as a "carrot" for making a major order.
- It positions a sales person as a consultant.
- It increases the check, or revenue spent.
