Positioning is how you want a customer/client or a prospective customer/client to view your company, product, service, brand or yourself personal brand.
In an ideal world, when asked "What do you know about xyz company?" someone would parrot back the positioning statement. But that generally doesn't happen. Why? Most positioning statements are too long, have too much industry and/or company jargon (words people don't understand) and don't get to a compelling answer...
